Construction Safety Week 21st – 25th October 2019
Construction Safety Week took place from 21st October to 25th October and during that week, shines an extra spotlight on the awareness and need for thinking safety first on sites at all times.
Durkan take the issue of health and safety very seriously and welcome the Construction Industry Federation’s safety initiative to bring focus to this topic.
Each day of Safety Week will promote different aspects of health and safety starting on Monday 21st with an emphasis on Mental Health and Wellbeing in Construction with other subjects such as Working Safely with Electricity, Working Safely at Heights, Vehicle Risk and Safety in Lifting Operations and Working Safely with Hazardous Substances.
The collective mission for Construction Safety Week 2019 is to partner together to:
- Eliminate accidents and incidents on construction sites in Ireland.
- Promote a healthy culture of sharing lessons learned and best practice case studies in safety, health and wellbeing.
- Reflect on the positive initiatives taken and celebrate achievements in good safety performance, whilst appreciating the potential consequences of failing to act responsibly in terms of safety and health.
- Continue to work with colleagues and others to strengthen the construction industry’s safety and wellbeing culture.
